As the track and city prepares for a potential return of the championship weekend in 2026, one more race lies ahead before the preparation can begin in Homestead-Miami.
The race a season ago, and just under five months ago, was nothing short of excitement from start to finish. Tyler Reddick’s move on the outside lane over Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin to send himself to the championship race has been playing on highlight reels all week. Will we see a similar result on Sunday? We’ll just have to find out.
Alex Bowman is the man that will start out front at a track he has never won at before, but will look to change that this year. He is joined on the front row by defending race winner Josh Berry, who looks to carry his momentum and do the unthinkable by sending Wood Brothers Racing back to victory lane for the second weekend in a row.
Just missing the front row in an impressive qualifying effort is Noah Gragson. The Front Row Motorsports driver has had speed at Homestead before, most notably in the Xfinity Series car. Chase Briscoe starts in the fourth position, and William Byron looks to re-visit his Miami success as he starts in the fifth spot.
Some dark horse names to watch include John Hunter Nemechek, who always seems to qualify well here. He starts in seventh, while Austin Cindric starts right next to him in eighth. AJ Allmendinger is always someone to keep an eye on at this racetrack as well, as he will start 10th and has run well every time throughout his career.
Other favorites are buried a little bit deeper into the field. Kyle Larson rolls off 14th, Christopher Bell starts 16th, Chase Elliott starts 18th, and the defending race winner in the No. 45 car was only able to qualify in the 20th position.
With all these big names scattered throughout the field, it is set to be a great race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, 3:00PM ET, live on FS1.
